Découpage de l’orme chez Gisors

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Blast from the Past

Walked past an old tailor that I have not visited in many years, so I decided to walk in to get a few shirts done. He went through his records and flipped open, proudly, a page to show that he still had my card (and measurements, egads…)

Brought back many happy memories for me, that card. It was my first business card from my first job after graduation ten years ago.

With that card, we were the only Asian company to be in the finals of an international competition. We came in second (winning an honorable mention). The US Navy won the first prize. With that card, we were mentioned by Bill Gates on his visit to Singapore. We even shared the stage, albeit briefly, with him. With that card, we pushed the boundaries by using bleeding edge, untest technologies. It rocked.

Anyway, I made three cotton workshirts and two Egyptian Cotton shirts. Hopefully it’ll still look as good because their Sea Island Cotton shirts are very cheap.

And yes, there’s a new card now.
